NRTI, India’s First University of Railway and Transportation Technology, Announces Admissions for 20-21 Academic Year


The Vadodara-based National Institute of Railways and Transportation (NRTI), India’s premier university focused on rail and transportation technology education, multidisciplinary research and training established by Indian Railways, announced its admissions for the academic year 2020-21.

Deemed to be a university in the Novo category, this will be the third year of admission to NRTI, which has seen significant progress over these years towards its vision of being among the best universities in the country that can help fuel the growth and transformation of Indian transport sector.

NRTI will admit students to its established B.Sc. and BBA in Transportation Technology and Transportation Management respectively, as well as two new B.Tech programs. programs, two new MBA programs and four new MSc programs.

Most of them are unique programs offered exclusively at NRTI. The new programs also include an International Masters in Railway Systems Engineering and Integration offered in collaboration with the University of Birmingham, UK, where students will spend a year at the University of Birmingham.

The application deadline is July 31, 2020 for BBA, BSc and postgraduate programs. The entrance test for these programs will take place on August 23, 2020 at several centers across the country.

B.Tech admissions will be based on JEE Mains score, the last application date is September 14, 2020.

NRTI has increased education with quality online courses and summer internships in preparation for Covid 19, as classes for all programs and lots have been delivered online by the faculty using the latest technology and pedagogy and the teaching was completed without compromising the quality and safety of the students.

Students also had free access to a library of 4,000 online courses from leading universities around the world to complement the courses. These included courses in data science, microeconomic principles, and understanding research methods.
In addition, NRTI students will receive digital certificates from the offering university, as well as NRTI credits.

Six-week online industrial internships organized for second year students with leading private and public organizations in the transport sector.

NRTI follows government regulations regarding reservations for SC, ST, OBC and EWS. Supernumerary seats will also be considered for people with disabilities, migrants from Kashmir and former military personnel, in accordance with government regulations.
