DMRC launches website and mobile app with advanced features
Tourists can now plan their visit to famous landmarks and historic places in the capital with the new ‘Tourist Guide’ feature of Delhi Metro. It will allow them to see the route to the nearest metro station in the area, and information on the remaining journey after disembarking the train.
It will also provide information on last mile connectivity from the station and walking time or transit time, a DMRC official said. This unique feature will be part of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) new website and mobile application.
Among other notable features, passengers will have an interactive map feature on the website and mobile app to plan their trip quickly and efficiently.
“Passengers using the interactive map will be able to view the full route of their trip along with information about stations and interchange stations to their destination,” DMRC said.
Passengers will also be able to view the complete details of each station on the DMRC network, such as gate details, availability of lifts/escalators on the station with its location, location of the station on the map, among others. The revamped website was launched on Wednesday at a press conference held at Metro Bhavan.
DMRC (Corporate Communications) Executive Director Anuj Dayal said the Metro website will now also highlight the service status of each line in real time by displaying the appropriate color codes and text for indicate normal or partial service.
“In addition, in the event of a station closing, it will be displayed with a different color code and text to highlight it. The reason for the station restriction will be available on the ‘line detail’ page under the ‘station restriction/special information’ tab,” Dayal added.
